Louisa coordinated the Institute's communication activities, externally and internally. The remit of the Institute's Communications team includes the corporate publications, promoting the Institute's activities to external sources, media work to disseminate research news, social and digital content and being the point of contact for media enquiries. She sits on the Institute's (AWERB) and is a member of the steering group.
Louisa has over ten years experience in communication and engagement. Prior to joining the 海角社区论坛 as Communications Manager in 2014 she worked at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) managing outreach programmes and coordinating the EBI's communciation activities.
Before moving into science communications roles, Louisa was a Sainsbury PhD student, receiving support throughout her PhD research from the Gatsby Charitable Foundation. Her PhD research into the molecular control of flowering time was undertaken at both the John Innes Centre in Norwich and the Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding in Cologne, Germany. Louisa has a BSc in Cell Biology from the University of Durham.
