Race Against the Ageing Clock
Life expectancy has risen sharply over recent decades, but many people live their later years in poor health. The discovery of an ageing ‘clock’ written onto our DNA raises the promise of matching our health-span more closely to our lifespan. Research at the Institute aims to understand the epigenetic clock and the factors that affect it.
In 2018, for the Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition, we developed a new exhibit based on this epigenetic research called Race Against the Ageing Clock. This video forms part of the exhibit, explaining the science of the epigenetic ageing clock and our work in this area. Find out more here.
